This extraordinary plant is unsurpassed for attracting Monarch Butterflies and is one of the most popular plants on the beautiful wildflower. It's not uncommon to see dozens of Monarchs feeding on a stand of Meadow Blazingstar. Swallowtails, Sulphurs, Hairstreaks, Fritillaries, Painted Lady, Red Admirals are also likely to visit this plant along with hummingbirds and other pollinators. Meadow Blazingstar is the only blazingstar that is widely branched with many brilliant purple individual flowers. An excellent food source for Goldfinches as well. Liatris ligulistylis grows best in well drained medium to moist, loam soils.
