Varigated Jade or Crassula Ovata ‘Variegata’ 4 inch pot
This variegated Jade beauty is native to eastern Cape in South Africa, also in KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique. One of my all time favorites. It displays shades of pale green and creamy white. When grown in the sun the edges are tipped with a pretty pink margin.
Keep in bright light to retain variegation.
Jade plant has a small root system and therefore does not need a large pot. It does require a well-drained, loamy potting soil and an indoor location that receives bright light and average to cool temperatures. It is intolerant of humidity so be careful not to overwater. The plant can develop root rot in poorly drained soil.
Jade plants are included in the list of extremely poisonous plants for dogs and cats, according to ASPCA.
If your cat or dog is lured into taking a bite of the plant, they can develop symptoms of jade plant poisoning.
